Irvine, CA, November 14, 2005-NanoMEMS Research, LLC proudly announces that Dr. Héctor J. De Los Santos, its President & CTO, has been elected an IEEE Fellow in recognition of his extraordinary record of accomplishments. The total number selected in any one year does not exceed one-tenth percent of the total voting Institute membership. Specifically, Dr. De Los Santos' IEEE Fellow citation reads as follows: for contributions to radio frequency (RF) and microwave microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) devices and applications. NanoMEMS Research, LLC Awarded Phase I SBIR Grant by NSF
Irvine, CA, November 10, 2005-NanoMEMS Research, LLC is extremely pleased to announce that it has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I grant of $100K by the National Science Foundation. This SBIR Phase I research project aims at demonstrating a novel radio frequency Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (RF MEMS) switch capable of handling high-power RF/microwave signals. The research to be undertaken has three primary objectives: 1) to design a novel high-power RF MEMS switch; 2) to demonstrate its low-cost manufacturability; and 3) to demonstrate its high-power performance. The research will address key technical challenges related to switch architecture to maximize its switching life and power handling capability. The successful outcome of this research will enable new capabilities in high-end systems, such as aerospace and defense systems, wireless infrastructure, and instrumentation. Dr. Héctor J. De Los Santos, President & CTO of NanoMEMS Research, LLC, is the Principal Investigator.

Irvine, CA, September 12, 2005- NanoMEMS Research, LLC is pleased to inform that it has recently completed its registration as an educational institution with the State of California to provide Continuing Education (CE). The CE courses currently offered are:

       1. Introduction to RF/Wireless MEMS Technology and Commercialization
       2. RF MEMS Circuit Design for Wireless Communications
       3. Fundamentals of Nanotechnology
       4. MEMS in RF and Microwave Electronics
       5. Hands-On RF MEMS Design

These CE courses are aimed at a variety of audiences, encompassing students, engineers, designers, manufacturers, marketing and business development managers, and executives currently involved in the study, development, manufacturing or commercialization of wireless systems for both commercial (3G and beyond) and defense markets.  The courses involve face-to-face interaction as they are offered in a classroom setting. Completion of each course is marked by awarding the participants a "Certificate of Completion" of the given Contunuing Education course.
